I love making soup in the crockpot – and with yesterday’s and today’s chilly temps, it is about time I dust that thing off and start {slow} cookin’!
I am so excited about slow-cooker weather! I have about 100 ideas in my head right now- and this cookbook would help with the “vegan experiment” that will be going on in my house. I’m so excited to make this pumpkin chili again (which can be made with or without meat): http://www.oatmealafterspinning.com/2011/10/09/apple-pickin-and-pumpkin-chili-2/
That chili sounds incredible!! I need to make that.
Before I moved across country, I had three slow cookers! While I was paring down my belongings, they all got the ax. Little did I know how much more could be done with them than making the animal-based recipes I’d witnessed growing up.

I have a slow cooker and I love using it through the fall and winter! My “go-to” recipes are vegan chili and Aloo Gobi!

I love my slow cooker but only recently since I never used one until a year or so ago. I love making stews in them, it makes the whole house smell delicious!
I do have a slowcooker and use it all the time! One of my favorite recipes is to make a vegan pot pie in it…also slow cooker seitan! yum! dying to try this book out!

I struggle with using a slow cooker because other than chili I run out of ideas. I need a book like this!

I am buying a slow cooker this fall! (I need to give myself time to research them to death, as I do with every purchase). I have been eying this book, as well as The Indian Slow Cooker, which I hear is vegan-friendly and delicious!
And I followed you on twitter too!
i do have a slow cooker and should use it more
Thanks for including Canadians in this giveaway!
I love my slow cooker and use it most often to make chili in the winter.
No problem! I made sure to ask about shipping to Canada.

We have a slow cooker, but mostly do big batches of dried beans in it. It’s really helpful for cooking beans easily.
Honestly, since going vegan, I haven’t used my slow cooker much. The only thing that comes to mind to cook in a slow cooker is chili!
You gotta get one of Robin’s cookbooks then! I have vegan on the cheap and it’s got pot roast, corned seitan and cabbage, tabbouleh stuffed peppers and chili with cornbread dumplings. All super cheap and from the slow-cooker!

I do have a slow cooker (that’s the same thing as a crockpot, right?) but I don’t use it very much.
Yes, it’s the same thing.
I have a slow cooker and love the ease of it! My favorite recipe is probably a vegetable and chickpea curry dish! Delicious and adventurous!
I’m a follower of both now, too!
And, tweeted about the contest as well! Woo hoo!
I have a slow cooker but since I’ve started cutting out meat I haven’t used it much. I’m guilty of thinking of it purely in terms of making pulled pork or chicken, chili, stews, etc. I forget there is a whole other world of slow cooker meals and desserts out there. This book sounds awesome and like it would inspire many creative uses of the slow cooker! Good giveaway!
You know, I’ve never, ever made anything in a slow cooker, but I so want to! I’d love to get my hands on this book. If I don’t win it, I’ll go out any buy it anyway!
Yes, I own a crockpot and I love the seitan pot roast from Robin Roberson’ Vegan On the Cheap.

Okay. My name is Rusty and I now own 5 slow cookers. Yes, I really like them! Right now I’m enjoying black bean, rice and kale soup from Robin Robertson’s “Vegan on the Cheap” done in the slow cooker.

I LOOOOOOVE my slow cooker. I used to think it wasn’t for me because I don’t eat meat, but I’ve made some delicious things in there: applesauce, vegetarian stew (just the veggies, no beef!), and a really delicious 13 bean soup with lentils and tons of veggies. I’ve been wanting to try some desserts because I hear you can make some pretty dern good ones in that thing!
P.S. I already follow @PicklesNHoney on twitter, of course! Just followed @GlobalVegan. Thanks for the new resource! I think I’ll pick up the cookbook anyway if I don’t win it!
Of course I have a slow cooker! I use it most often to cook dry beans, instead of buying cans which have sodium and other nasty thins added to them.

That sounds really good!
I definitely sold my slow cooker when I moved from a house into a studio apartment with a kitchen the size of a matchbox. But now I have expanded again and might have to scour for another!
I do have a slow cooker and I love to make soups/chili in it. I have also used it for a berry cobbler that was super good.
I don’t have a slow cooker yet because I need some inspiration, say in the form of a cookbook
I love using my slow cooker, but looking for recipes always yields pretty meat-heavy results. I’d love to win this book!

I make this “Creamy” White Bean Soup in my slow cooker. It has veggies, white beans, kale, and nutritional yeast!
That sounds like my kind of soup! Those are some of my favorite ingredients.
I have 4 slow cookers and I would love to try the pizza recipe in the book. I am always glad to learn new wyas to use my slow cookers.
I have two slow cookers and I think my fav thing to make in it is Caribbean red beans and rice.
I love my slow cooker and making lentil and sweet potato soup!
I have a slow cooker and love it, I also cook a lot of slow cooked meals in my cast iron pot, low and slow… I think my fav would be chicken style carnitas. Ohhh so good, but I would love some vegan recipes to try out!

I bought a slow cooker at Costco last year and it is now one my favorite kitchen gadgets. On cold winter nights (which isn’t too often here in Florida!) I like to add some oat groats, water and a cinnamon stick. Then in the morning, I have delicious, warm oats. Yum!

I do have a slow cooker which makes superdelicious overnight oatmeal…and other things which I have yet to learn. I’d love to explore Robin’s recipes and try them out! Cheers!
I have 3 crockpots and I used them constantly. My family loves to come home to the smell of dinner when we open the door, and as a diabetic, I love being able to have an easy way to prepare simple protein recipes. My mother is a vegetarian, and while my family is not, she has certainly convinced us to integrate more meatless meals into our diet.
Favorite recipe….. That is a tough question…. Either this maroccan chickpea and veggies type of stew, or…… Banana chocolate bread pudding, that caramelizes on the sides ….mmmmmmmm……. Thank goodness fall is here!
I have a slow cooker, and I LOVE it! My favorite thing to make in it is Dreena Burton’s Cocoa Coconut Chili with sweet potatoes. I can’t wait to check out Robin’s slow cooker recipes!
Yum! I need to get my hands on that recipe!
It is in Eat, Drink & Be Vegan if you want to check it out.
Congrats, Lauren! You’ve won a copy of Robin’s new cookbook! Shoot me an email with your shipping address (amanda@picklesnhoney.com) and I’ll send it over to my contact at Harvard Common Press.

I love SLOW COOKING. Being a very busy working mom of 3 girls I rely on Slow Cooking. After 4mos of being on a vegan diet I would love to learn some slow cooker recipes.
I’ve never really used a slow cooker before, but they intrigue me, especially after seeing your banana bread pudding recipe! I’m going back to school soon and will be looking for easy recipes to make since I won’t have much time to cook. A slow cooker is a great idea!
I have a slow cooker and use mine all year long to make soup, stews, and sometimes even dessert. My favorite thing to make in it right now is ratatouille.
Yes I have a slow cooker.. I make many veggie soups in it with all the wonderful produce from our small organic garden.. Your book looks wonderful !
I love my slow cooker—perfect for making beans, chilis, soups, stews, potatoes…would love to get a little more creative with it.
Thanks for a terrific giveaway!

I LOVE my slow cooker! It’s SO nice to throw some goodies in the pot in the morning and come home to the house smelling wonderful and a ready cooked meal!! I’ve been meaning to try some oats in the crock pot but my two FAVORITES to make in the slow cooker are beef stew and lentil soup!
Followed on Twitter AND Tweeted!
I have four regular/large sized slow cookers and two tiny ones (2 cup). I have used two at once but I normally use one once or twice a week for cooking up beans from scratch!
I have a slow cooker that my parents got me from Goodwill. It is old but it does the job.
I love to just cook steel cut oats in it and have nice warm oatmeal for me in the morning.
My favourite go-to recipe for my slow cooker is chickpea curry.
I like making breakfast items in the slow cooker. Steel cut oatmeal is great because you wake up in the morning and breakfast is all ready. I need more great recipes to make my boyfriend go vegan.

I have a slow cooker that I got on a great sale and now the brand escapes me!! I don’t use it nearly enough but when I do I think, why don’t I use this more often because it’s sooooo easy?? My favorite recipe has got to be the Spicy African Peanut Slow Cooker Soup from the Peas and Thank You cookbook, however I find I need to add way more garam masala than she recommends to get to the level spiciness I prefer.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity Amanda!!
I don’t do Twitter but I shared the giveaway on my Facebook page, does that count???
Sure, that counts!
I love making huge batches of fruit butter in the slow cooker! The whole house smells like a little piece of heaven when spiced apple butter is cooking away in the crockpot.
yes vegan chicken soup with artichoke noodles’, looks like an amazing book!yum
Slow cookers rock. There is nothing better than coming home with the family after a day of fun, and smelling the food already cooked. Although thought of a winter cooking method, no harm in breaking it out all year round.
Chilis get a great amount of time to blend their flavors.
@this1sforshaky
i have a slow cooker, but am somehow still stumped about what kinds of healthy meals i can make in it, so i have mostly used it for chili so far. i would love to win this book!
Being asian, I mostly make rice in my slow cooker, haha
I love love love new recipes but because I’m a high school music student with no time to work I don’t have the money to go out and buy them xD I saved up and I’m trying to decide which ones should be my first few, but it’s so hard, there are so many that look amazing! I love the sound of this one because it is vegan. If there are some gluten free/refined sugar free recipes in there as well it should be a winner! Thanks for the giveaway, I’m crossing my fingers!

I love my slowcooker!! I love making applesauce…the smell just fills up the house. Hubby makes a mean veggie stew that is great to come home to after a long day at work
I have two slow cookers, and I love having both of them.
I’ve got a nicely sized 5-6 quart one and then a little 1.5 quart one. The latter works wonderfully for breakfast-y stuff; my personal favorite is a brown rice breakfast pudding. Yum!
Congrats! You’ve won a copy of Robin’s new cookbook! Shoot me an email with your shipping address (amanda@picklesnhoney.com) and I’ll send it over to my contact at Harvard Common Press.
I have a slow cooker and it is used a LOT. My favorite slow cooker recipe is Tofu pot roast. I love that like traditional pot roast you get lots of leftovers that can be turned into stew, shepherd’s pie or sliced into sandwich filling.
I love my slow-cooker! I use it way more often in the fall/winter.
Thanks for the giveaway!
