– I go through phases with foods where I discover a new ingredient or product and then find ways to revolve all of my meals around it. I went through a notorious tofu stir-fry phase in college, ate it literally five nights a week for a year, and then had to take two years off of tofu to recover. Most of my phases don’t last nearly this long – maybe a couple of weeks or so. And this week is all about the sriracha and homemade almond milk. Sriracha on ALL THE THINGS, followed by almond milk because my mouth is on fire. It’s working out okay so far.
– I’ve mentioned before that I usually wear earplugs at night due to occasionally noisy neighbors and that Honey (and now Barley!) love to try to eat them because silicone is oh-so-delicious. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I’m missing one, which usually just means it’s stuck to my pillow/sheets/shirt/hair. Well, the other day I searched for several minutes, not wanting the puggles to have a little snack later, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I got on with my day, hopped in the shower, was using some body wash…and found it stuck in my belly button. I’ll never know if I put it there in my sleep for safekeeping or if it randomly happened. But I will say this – my earplug story is trumped by the one where Aaron woke up in the middle of the night to find that he was EATING one of his. Maybe we should learn to sleep without them?!
– Barley is perhaps the happiest dog I’ve ever met. He’s sunshine and rainbows all the time and extremely playful. He turns everything into a game, with the latest being chase with the mop. I run after Barley with the mop, he tears around our apartment full-sprint, butt tucked under and crashing into walls, and then chases me back the other direction. This goes on for about twenty minutes at least several times a week, and then he’s ridiculously smiley for the next couple of hours. No actual mopping happens.
